Context



Fresh produce is key to a healthy lifestyle, but it has a short shelf life. The average American family throws out 1/3 of the food they buy (up to 250lbs a year) because it’s gone bad.







Current Market



Of all the traditional food preservation methods, handheld vacuum sealers offer the longest preservation at the most affordable price.

Problem



While handheld vacuum sealers are the most accessible alternative for food preservation since they are less costly and take up less space, however current market products lack versatility and appeal.











Opportunity Space



In order to make healthy eating more feasible, food needs to stay fresh for longer. In order to keep food fresh for longer, users need a versatile vacuum sealer that utilizes packaging already available in the home.








Target Brand



KitchenAid is a higher-end kitchenware brand known for its stand mixers, pasta makers, cutlery, and more. KitchenAid offers a variety of products but all with a distinctive and notable style.
